Chocolate for the Chocolate
Lovers
Chocolate
is made from the fermented,
roasted, and ground seeds taken from the pod
of the tropical cacao tree. The tree is
native to lowland tropical
South America but is now cultivated
throughout the tropics.
The seeds have an intense
bitter taste, and must be fermented
to develop the chocolate flavor. The
resulting products are known as "chocolate"
or, in some parts of the world,
cocoa.
Our advice is
simple — if you plan to make a gift of
chocolate, get two. Sure, maybe
you can resist the temptation of
sampling that luscious gift of chocolate —
we sure can't. If you crave chocolate...
get two!
A gift of the
Aztecs — who considered it the food of the
gods — there's more than a few of us who
revere the flavor of chocolate still today.
From Fair Trade Certified® cocoa to
guilt-free coffee flavors, to select,
single-origin chocolates, you'll find
something to satisfy your every craving.

Tanzania Chocolate Sauce
|
Fair Trade Organic Better World Cocoa
|
Like
coffee, the finest chocolate can
be traced back to a specific
origin or growing region. This
divinely dark chocolate sauce is
made with Tanzanian Select
Origin Dark Chocolate, which has
75% cocoa content. Paler
imitations are often made with
cocoa powder and corn syrup
instead of chocolate. This
superior sauce is the real deal:
rich, full-bodied and sweetly
satisfying. And its from our
friends at Lake Champlain
Chocolate. Net weight 12oz

In
addition to possessing a great
deal of knowledge about
chocolate, Lake Champlain
Chocolates holds a world view
very much like our own. When we
worked with them to create our
Fair Trade organic cocoa, we
knew we were in for a treat.
Sourced from the Dominican
Republic, this powder produces
cocoa that is incredibly rich
and delicious—just add one
heaping tablespoon to 8 ounces
of warm milk.

Chocolate Lava Cake Mix
|
Chocolate Raspberry Truffle
|
The
King Arthur Flour Company reigns
supreme at making baking easy.
When we tried this chocolate
lava cake mix, it took three
ingredients and five minutes to
make. After 14 minutes in the
oven, we had an oozing chocolate
treat worthy of a full-page
photo in a fancy cooking
magazine. Enjoy a "restaurant"
dessert at your home tonight! We
just recommend putting a piece
aside for yourself before the
word gets out.

From trifle to truffles, there's
